Back of Beyond Campaign
The Campaign Map
We’ve actually run two Back of Beyond campaigns over the years. The first one ran out of steam when a couple of the main players stopped coming to the club, but it was great while it lasted. The second one, started in the summer of 2016, involved a bunch of new players, most of whom had interventionist armies that weren’t really covered in the Back of Beyond supplement, but came about as people wanted to use their pet Great War armies. We sort of fudged things to fit a lot of new factions in, but the same basic ideas apply … games should be fun, the campaign free flowing, and it should all be slightly silly.
In both campaigns, movement is from point to point (or rather city to city), and it can (and has been) expanded from time to time to fit in British expeditionary forces operating in Afghanistan, new waves of Red or White Russians, and control of the Trans-Siberian railroad – which is a campaign objective for several of the factions.
